Becoming Mature Course

We are so extremely thankful to God that HE helped us to achieve a huge and very important task. We have finished our third Course of over a hundred pages of teaching. This course consists of 36 lessons, cut out for churches and Christians to grow and become more spiritually mature. Further to this, it is also now fully translated into Swahili and proof-read. The Luo version is in the process of being translated and will be for the part of Uganda where we work. The Swahili version is predominantly for the churches in Tanzania.

An outstandingly divine God-appointment – Tanzania

The bishop from Karagwe travelled nearly 14 hours to our GAM office in Arusha. It was amazing to hear how the 14 churches we have planted after our last crusade there, are doing. The bishop oversees them all. The smallest church has 50 people and the largest 800. All 14 churches combined contain 3500 people, and all of that in that short amount of time. Praise God! At the same time the bishop also runs our GAM College in Karagwe. This is the biggest Bible College we currently have with 56 students. Our prayer and plan is, that all the 56 students will become pastors of churches we will plant in the future. It is amazing what God is doing!

The bishop travelled all that way to ask our GAM Africa Director, if there was, in any way possible, to meet David personally. He didn’t know that David was there in his country exactly in that week. You can imagine how happy he was to walk into a direct answer to his prayer much earlier than he expected! Only God can plan this! The bishop requested that David would visit the 14 churches and set the corner stone for the General Office of the churches in Karagwe.

Huge disaster yet God’s appointed timing – Tanzania

While David was in the GAM office with the GAM personnel, a neighbour called Jacqueline came to us to borrow the mobile phone for a phone call. Her husband had left her and not given her any money to feed herself and her 3-year-old child. On top of that she was pregnant in the fourth month. She hadn’t eaten for 2 days. She asked her husband if he can give her some money. While Jacqueline was speaking to her husband on the phone outside, we could hear the conversation from inside. He told his wife Jacqueline to leave his house immediately as he will come back with another woman to live there and if she still hasn’t moved out by then, he would kill her. Then Jacqueline called that new woman and told her that he is married and “you should not accept my husband as your new man, he is my husband”. But that new lady didn’t care at all and said so.

We invited Jacqueline in and expressed our deepest sympathy. David could hardly believe what he was literally witnessing. She was in tears and in despair. She couldn’t go back to her parent’s house either, as they have no capacity to cater for her and her child.

David explained to her that God loves her and cares for her. He also expounded that she has a bigger problem which is her sin separating her from God. Therefore, Jesus went to the cross to die for her sin, if she repents and accepts HIM into her life. After having explained salvation, Jacqueline said, that she is ready to give her life to Jesus and accept HIM as her personal Saviour and Lord. She knelt down and became a Christian. David prayed for her too afterwards, that God will lead her way. She got up and said that she feels so much freer now.

We gave her bananas, peanuts, clothes and money for one month’s rent as well as a little cash to buy some soap etc. David said that we would establish a maize business for her as some people surely will make some donations towards it.

Then she left to find a new accommodation.

It was a very stirring scene.

Breakthrough on Female Genital Mutilation in Uganda

We praise God so much for an unimaginable breakthrough in East Uganda.

“We started our mission not knowing how we can make an impact by trying to combat such a deep-rooted cultural practice which had been happening over so many decades. Many people who tried to fight this battle in the past have failed. Others were scared, because this can be very dangerous in some areas. For example, the Pokot tribe kill people without flinching like they would kill an animal. The police gave us the backing in case we would get harmed, but they themselves did not engage in this mission. Many girls fled to Kenya as refugees because they were terrified of what will be done to them. We even went over the borders to Kenya to visit them. Many of them are in Kitale town in Kenya. We were told from the locals in East Uganda, that this is a spirit, because you can imprison or kill people for carrying out the mutilation but that wouldn’t stop the practice in that land. We addressed that very territorial and generational spirit by spiritual warfare and the very next day we saw such a HUGE unexplainable-humanly speaking- change. People came from all over the place and from different villages to us where we publicly addressed this issue with speakers. The number increased to over 400 people. Keep in mind that this topic was not even spoken of in society. This topic was of a secret nature. People started to repent and renounce this practice and said we will never do this again. They got set in motion with such a passion to spread this all over like a fire. The women especially were so happy and said they are so fed up with this horrendous practice. Even the Pokot tribe did not kill us, but received us with much hospitality and listened to our message. We went to many different districts (Kween, Bulambuli, Kapcorwa, Bukwo, Amudat etc.) All these people did not want us to leave, so we even prolonged our stay. We will go back to keep catalysing this great move which has started and pray it spreads further. We are beyond grateful to God that HE empowered us as a small body as we are, to change such a massive demonic custom.”

Thank you for praying and standing with us and please continue!
