From Rejection to Empowerment – Uganda

In 2023 a 16-year-old girl called Sarah came walking 36km to the crusade ground in Uganda. She was an orphan girl without parents. Sarah lived with her grandmother, but two weeks prior to the crusade, her grandmother told her to leave home because she can no longer look after her. So, Sarah went onto the streets of Kabermido town to fight to survive. After she heard of the crusade, she joined immediately. Sarah got gloriously saved and delivered from peptic ulcer and chronic headaches. Our GAM Uganda Representative adopted her which was a great sacrifice as he himself already has a big family.

GAM sponsored her tailor apprenticeship which Sarah finished successfully and then established a business of her own. She started in a small workshop, producing beautiful, high-quality clothing. The workshop has become a beacon of hope for other vulnerable girls.

We are so excited and grateful that we have the following amazing fruit:

  1. Economic Empowerment: Sarah now earns a steady income, supporting herself and her community.
  2. Job Creation: Her workshop employs 1 additional girl, providing her with a livelihood.
  3. Skills Development: Sarah has already trained 5 others in tailoring, equipping them for a brighter future.
  4. Community Transformation: The workshop has become a hub for social and economic change.

Finances permitting our future plans are:

  1. Expand Workshops: Establish 5 additional tailoring workshops in different regions of Uganda.
  2. Increase Training: Provide vocational training for 50 more girls annually who are in the same situation.
  3. Mentorship: Pair trained girls with successful entrepreneurs for guidance.
  4. Economic Growth: Create a sustainable business model, generating income and employment.

“The man of God David

saw potential in me when no one else did.

His support transformed my life.

I’m now empowering others,

breaking the cycle of poverty.” – Sarah

Expanding in Ethiopia

By God’s grace, we have successfully translated our GAM course materials—up to the Diploma level—into Afaan Oromoo (a widely spoken language in Ethiopia) and also in French. This includes not only the course content but also the exam papers and answer keys, completed in record time. Please pray with us as we look toward the future. Our vision is to establish GAM Colleges in Ethiopia. We trust that God, who has brought us this far, will open the necessary doors to make this vision a reality.

New Bible Colleges:

We are delighted to announce that two more GAM Bible Colleges have been established in Tanzania, bringing the total number to six active Colleges! This expansion came in response to a heartfelt request from 160 pastors in the Manjara area, who had expressed a deep desire for biblical training. As a result, we launched a new College there on 24th March—becoming our largest College to date, with all 160 pastors enrolling as students.

After hearing about the new College that was going to be set up in Manjara, leaders in Singida reached out and asked if we could do the same in their region. By God’s grace, we began our sixth College in Singida also on 24th March, where 35 eager learners were already preparing to begin their studies.

Thank you very much for praying for us.
