Travel Report – Teaching Team | Mission Trip to Uganda

Thanks to GAM, we had the opportunity to travel as missionaries in Uganda and deliver a seven-part teaching series at four different locations near Lira City. The topics were: Disciple of Jesus, The Good News (Gospel), The New Birth, The Holy Spirit, Knowing God, Call of Jesus, and The Good Ground. Our desire was to communicate the gospel clearly and practically so that people could come to know Jesus, follow Him, and grow spiritually. At all the gatherings, there was a noticeable openness. We were warmly welcomed everywhere, and many people listened attentively. It was especially moving to see how many received the Holy Spirit. People understood that this promise was for all disciples—not something reserved only for pastors or worship leaders. In addition, more than twenty people were baptized and publicly confessed their faith in Jesus Christ. Alongside spiritual renewal, we also witnessed tangible healings and deliverances. People reported freedom from pain, inner peace, and new joy. At the same time, we saw God strengthening churches, encouraging leaders, and releasing callings. Much of it felt like a beginning rather than an end. These days in Uganda deeply touched and newly motivated us as well. We experienced firsthand that God’s gospel carries power and that He truly transforms lives. We are excited to see what God will continue to do in Uganda and believe that He is calling many to follow Him and wants to shape the nation spiritually in the long term. For us, it was a privilege to take part and witness God’s work up close.

Travel Report – Humanitarian Team | Mission Trip to Uganda

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, our mission trip to Uganda began. Joining the trip were the Teaching Team with Mischa, Halit, and Andrea, as well as the Humanitarian Team, consisting of Pasqui, a certified nurse, and Jolanda. The goal of our journey was, for the first time, to actively distribute donated goods collected by Gospel Alive Church and Gospel Alive Ministries to widows and orphans in Lira and the surrounding areas, and to help advance the urgently needed opening of an orphanage in Lira. Our journey took us via Istanbul to Entebbe, where we arrived Sunday morning. Right at the airport we faced a challenge: Halit’s and Jolanda’s luggage had not arrived, likely unloaded during a stopover. The lost-items counter was chaotic, which caused further delays. Despite everything, we were warmly welcomed by our Ugandan pastors. With a minibus filled to the last seat, luggage on the roof, and joyful Ugandan worship music playing at sunset, we travelled about twelve hours to Lira due to roadblocks and detours. The hardships of the journey were soon forgotten. On Monday, our mission work began at Kole Church. We were welcomed with loud cheers—a moment that deeply touched us. After powerful worship, Pasqui and Jolanda were officially introduced. Teachings followed, along with especially valuable medical education provided by Pasqui. Afterward, we distributed clothes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, school supplies, toys, as well as maize, sugar, and soap to the widows. In the afternoon, we visited several widows in their homes together with the pastors and were able to meet them personally. In the following days, we met many widows and orphans, visited them in their homes, and toured the future orphanage next to Barlwala Church. It will be established within an existing school and is expected to begin this month (March) with ten children. We also met the future staff. Particularly moving was supporting widows with sun umbrellas and large sacks of maize so they could start small businesses of their own. Another touching moment was visiting a sewing workshop run by orphaned girls in Lira, which had been expanded through donations. As a sign of great gratitude, Pasqui and Jolanda each received a handmade African dress. A safari in the national park marked the end of our trip. Thanks to a six-hour flight delay, we still arrived at the airport on time. The return journey, with a few mishaps along the way, was adventurous and unforgettable. Filled with gratitude, hope, and many deep encounters, we returned home changed.

Founding of GAC

We are currently facing significant challenges with the registration of Gospel Alive Charity. Because the authorities know that we work in Uganda, the process has become a bit more complicated as the country is sometimes considered high-risk regarding financial regulations.
We frequently encounter obstacles in God’s work. Again and again though, we see how God makes a way where things seem difficult. We are continuing to pray and would really appreciate your prayers as well, that the registration will be completed soon and everything will fall into place.
Jolanda, who previously served on the humanitarian team, will become the president of GAC. In the future, the orphanage and other humanitarian projects will mainly be carried out through Gospel Alive Charity. Jolanda has carried this vision in her heart for many years, and we truly believe that God has now brought us together at the right time so that this desire can finally become a reality.
We are very grateful for your prayers and support as we move forward together.

Thank you very much for praying for us.
