Widows’ Businesses – Update from Uganda

We are grateful to report that the maize flour business support given to the 11 widows has been a meaningful help in improving their daily lives and supporting them financially. The businesses have enabled them to generate income, provide for their families, and regain hope during difficult circumstances.

The beneficiaries testified that the support has helped them take important steps toward self-reliance. Despite economic challenges, including rising prices of goods and difficult market conditions, they have continued working hard to sustain and grow their businesses.

Some beneficiaries experienced personal challenges and setbacks along the way, including health issues and accidents, yet the support received played an important role in helping them through these difficult periods. Others highlighted how operating within busy market areas has created opportunities for increased customer interaction and sales.

Overall, the project has had a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, encouraging them both practically and emotionally. They expressed sincere gratitude for the support provided and thanked God for the assistance that has brought relief, encouragement, and renewed motivation for the future.

The next step up would be a pair of scales as that would attract more customers and be a big help.

Disappointing News

It is with sadness that we must share that we are currently unable to proceed with our orphanage project in Uganda. Despite many efforts, we have not been able to find a bank in Switzerland willing to provide a bank account for the project, as Uganda is considered a high-risk country financially. Unfortunately, many African countries fall into this category due to strict regulations concerning corruption and money laundering.

We explored alternative solutions, but these also raised major challenges and potential future complications. However, this does not mean the vision has ended. We are prayerfully looking into Tanzania for the future, as it appears to be a more workable option at this stage. Therefore, the project is not cancelled, but postponed and redirected for the time being.

Please pray for the orphans and everyone who was preparing to be involved, as this news is a great disappointment to many. Also pray for wisdom, guidance, and open doors for the future.

God sees the whole picture, and we continue to trust in HIM.

Testimony

Back operation – not necessary anymore

Three years ago, I had an accident falling from a scaffold. I had broken my spine in two places and after surgery suffered severe back and shoulder pain. After receiving prayer, the pain finally left.

Seven months ago, after twisting round to lift a small box I felt a sharp stabbing feeling in my lower back. Over several days the pain increased until I could not sit down or get in and out of bed, my wife had to lift me up from a chair as well as pulling my legs round and lifting me from bed. Another three weeks went by with no change so I arranged to see a specialist to find out if any permanent damage had been done to my back. At my local church I mentioned this to my friend David Ohin. He offered to pray for my back.

David laid hands on my back and prayed for total restoration. I could feel my back go icy cold and the pain started lifting. I asked if he could continue praying as there was a small part left. He did so and from then on, my back has been completely healed and out of pain. I have not needed to use any medication and I have been free from pain for the past six weeks. Praise God.

Thank you very much for praying for us.
